Recreational Gymnastics
Ms. Patricia’s offers a variety of recreational gymnastics classes for all ages and ability levels to produce well-rounded gymnasts. Our curriculum incorporates fun learning activities into a step progression that promotes self-esteem and self-confidence and develops individual skill success. Gymnastics classes are offered for ages 2 ½ and up, and include instruction in bars, vault, beam, and floor. There is also a tumble track to develop more advanced skills. If you are interested in tumbling only, separate classes are offered in cheer tumbling. Gymnastics is the basis of all sports. Participation in gymnastics increases strength, agility, balance, flexibility, and coordination. Hand-eye coordination can be achieved at an early age and can carry over to sports like tennis, basketball, football and baseball. Foot-eye coordination helps while playing soccer and is complimented by gymnastics also. The four main aspect of fitness are muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, strength, and flexibility. These areas can be achieved in many sports, but not so completely as gymnastics. Qualities acquired from gymnastics can promote a lifetime of fitness.
When boys turn six years old, they progress to the school-age boys’ only gymnastics class. Our boys’ classes offer much more than just the opportunity to learn basic gymnastics skills. Our active, high energy class will direct and channel your son's energy in an environment that is both fun and safe. Boy’s gymnastics events include; parallel bars, floor, vaulting, rings, high bar, mushroom, pommel horse and tumble track. Our curriculum introduces basic skills and concepts while improving both strength and flexibility. The boys learn not only gymnastics, but will acquire a foundation that will strongly complement any sport they desire to pursue in the future.
